an invitation to follow-up on the wonderful LEGISLATIVE BREAKFAST <st1:City
w:st="on">SUMMIT</st1:City> that was held on Monday, October 27, 2008
between<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>state, county and city
elected officials and the City of <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:City w:st="on">Mount
Vernon School Board Trustees</st1:City></st1:place> and administration. As
announced at that breakfast, our next step is to convene a public meeting on
January 15, 2009 at the City Council Chambers at <st1:Street
w:st="on"><st1:address w:st="on">Roosevelt Square</st1:address></st1:Street> in
<st1:State w:st="on">Mount Vernon</st1:State> between 7pm and 9pm(sharp) to help
identify a strategy that can address the needs of our fiscally distressed
<st1:place w:st="on">School District</st1:place>. <o:p></o:p></FONT></SPAN></P>

style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt"><o:p><FONT

coverage of the conversation before an invited audience of individuals
representing stakeholder groups within our community. We are attempting to
establish an understanding of how our <st1:place w:st="on">School
District</st1:place> has gotten to this point, and how we as a community can
provide sufficient clout to find and support some immediate and long term
solutions.<o:p></o:p></FONT></SPAN></P>

people would bring an important perspective to our deliberation together. If
this effort is successful, we would like to design an implementable strategy,
and discuss that strategy in this public forum… with video capacity… that can
thereafter be presented to the community-at-large. We greatly appreciate the
efforts of the City Council in helping to facilitate and convene this important
event to be hosted at City Hall. We hope that all of our elected and school
district officials will be in attendance.<o:p></o:p></FONT></SPAN></P>
